Frequently asked questions

Question: Do you actually video tape speakers at your Toastmasters meetings? Scarry!!!
Response: Yes, we do, but only if the speaker requests it. Reviewing a speech via video tape is one of the best ways to see what you should do to improve your presentation. And no, don't worry, we won't put anyone's speeches on the world wide web. However, we might put some clips of a speech on the "speeches" section of this web site - but only if the person being video taped approves such a use.
Question: Are your meetings "technical" because they are held at a power plant?
Response: No, they are not technical. In fact, we have a lot of fun. And we have to be careful that we don't laugh too loud at 7:00 a.m. or else we could cause the ground to shake - and in turn, set off the vibration alarms on the turbine-generator. That would not be good.
